How do I reduce the file size of a photo?
Choose a target size and add your photos. The compressor finds the highest quality that fits under that size and only reduces the pixel dimensions if quality alone is not enough. Everything runs in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded, and there is no signup or watermark.
Your photos stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

- Choose a target size.
- Add one photo or many.
- Check the new size beside each file.
- Download one at a time or as a ZIP.
Which size to pick
For web and catalogue images, 200–500 KB usually keeps good detail. For forms and small uploads, 50–100 KB works for portraits and documents. Compressing a large product photo very hard can blur fabric texture, so compare before you use it.
Why the output is JPG
JPG gives the smallest files for photographs. Transparent areas are filled with white, so use a converter that keeps PNG if you need transparency.
Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The work happens on your own device, so it costs us nothing to run. There are no limits, signup or watermarks.
- Are my photos safe?
- They are never uploaded. Your browser does the compression on your device, and location data in the photo is removed from the compressed copy.
- Can I compress HEIC photos from an iPhone?
- Yes. Add them directly and you get a compressed JPG back.
