What size is a shipping label?
Most thermal shipping labels used by Indian sellers are 4 × 6 inch, which is close to 100 × 150 mm. Label PDFs from marketplaces are often laid out on A4, sometimes with the invoice on the same page, so they need cropping before they fit a 4 × 6 roll.
Step by step
- 1Download the label PDF for your orders from the Meesho Supplier Panel, Flipkart Seller Hub or Amazon Seller Central.
- 2Open the free Meesho label crop, Flipkart label crop or Amazon label crop tool and add the PDF; several PDFs work at once.
- 3Check that the detected box covers the whole label, including the barcode and return address. Drag or resize it if not.
- 4Choose 4 × 6 inch thermal output and download. Wide labels are rotated to fit.
- 5In the print dialog, choose your thermal printer, set paper to 4 × 6 inch (or 100 × 150 mm), and set scale to 100% or “actual size”.
- 6Print one label, scan its barcode with your phone, then print the rest.
Printer settings that prevent problems
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Label prints tiny in a corner | Paper size set to A4 | Set paper to 4 × 6 in the print dialog |
| Barcode won’t scan | Scaled to fit, or faint print | Print at 100%; raise darkness in printer settings |
| Label cut off at the edge | Crop box too tight | Enlarge the box slightly and download again |
| Blank labels between prints | Printer not calibrated to the roll | Run the printer’s label calibration |
Keeping the invoice
Some label PDFs include the tax invoice below the label. If you need the invoice in the parcel, keep the original A4 PDF as well, or choose the “A4, label at the top” output. To make your own invoices for direct orders, use the free GST invoice generator.
