How do I calculate profit on Meesho?

Meesho profit per order = selling price − any Meesho fees − GST in your price − product cost − packaging, then adjusted for returns. Enter your price, costs and return rate and the calculator shows profit if delivered, expected profit per order, margin and break-even price. Use the figures in your own Supplier Panel, because fees and shipping change.

How to use it

  1. Enter your selling price and product cost.
  2. Add packaging and any shipping you pay yourself.
  3. Enter commission and GST from your Supplier Panel.
  4. Enter your real return rate and what each return costs you.

The formula

Profit if delivered = price − fees (plus 18% GST on fees) − GST in the price − product cost − packaging. Expected profit = profit if delivered × (1 − return rate) − loss per return × return rate.

Worked example (hypothetical)

A ₹499 kurti costing ₹250 with ₹10 packaging and 5% GST in the price (₹23.76), with no commission or shipping borne, earns ₹215.24 when delivered. At a 15% return rate and ₹60 lost per return, expected profit is ₹215.24 × 0.85 − ₹60 × 0.15 = ₹173.95 per order.

Why returns matter so much

Each return loses its profit and adds its own cost, so a small rise in return rate can erase a margin. Photos that show true colour and fit are one of the few levers a seller controls.

Questions

What commission does Meesho charge?
Rates and fees can change, so this calculator does not hard-code one. Read the current figures in your Supplier Panel and enter them here.
What should I enter as loss per return?
Include return shipping charged to you, damaged stock and repacking. Check your payment statements for a few weeks of real returns rather than guessing.
Is GST included in my selling price?
The calculator treats the selling price as GST-inclusive and removes the GST portion. It does not include input credit, so ask your accountant for your exact position.
