Remove photo metadata (EXIF)
Free · No signup · Updated November 2026 by the DrapifyApp team
How do I remove location and EXIF data from a photo?
Add your photos and download clean copies with the EXIF metadata removed, including the GPS location many phones save, plus camera model and capture time. The tool redraws each photo, which leaves out all metadata, and keeps JPG, PNG and WebP formats. It runs on your device, so the original never leaves it.
Your photos stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

- Add one photo or many.
- See which files had metadata.
- Download the clean copies, or all as a ZIP.
Why it matters for sellers
Photos taken at home or at a workshop can carry the exact GPS location. Removing it before you share photos with buyers, suppliers or online is a sensible privacy step.
What is kept
The image itself stays the same size and orientation. Colour profiles and other hidden data are dropped along with location and camera details.
Questions
- Do WhatsApp and Instagram remove location data?
- Many apps strip some metadata when they compress photos, but sending as a document or uploading elsewhere can keep it. Cleaning photos first removes the doubt.
- Does removing EXIF reduce quality?
- JPGs are saved again at high quality, so the change is very hard to see. PNGs are lossless.
- Is my photo uploaded to check it?
- No. Everything happens on your device.
