What FBA adds to the bill
With Fulfilled by Amazon, Amazon stores, packs and ships the order. On top of the referral and closing fees, FBA sellers typically pay a pick and pack fee, a weight handling fee and storage fees based on the space stock occupies, and they pay to ship stock into the fulfilment centre.
Storage per unit
Storage is charged on space over time, not per order. Divide a month’s storage fee by the units sold that month. Slow-moving stock makes this number climb, which is why FBA suits fast sellers.

- Should storage go in per-unit cost?
- Yes. Divide the monthly storage charge by units sold in that month. Leaving it out overstates profit on slow sellers.
- Does FBA refund fees on returns?
- Treatment differs by fee and changes over time. Enter what a typical return actually cost you, from your payment reports, as the loss per return.
